Freedom From Smoking®

The American Lung Association of Oregon's Freedom From Smoking® program offers a variety of methods to help you quit smoking:

  • Self Help Guide - This 46-page Freedom From Smoking guide enables individual smokers to select segments that are appropriate for his/her stage in the quitting process. The self-help guide, including a relaxation CD and shipping, may be purchased for $15. Order now.
  • Classes - Freedom from Smoking®, the leading adult smoking cessation program for over 25 years, shows you how to quit for good in a supportive setting. It’s the best thing you can do for yourself and your family. Taught by American Lung Association-trained instructors, you’ll learn in a small group setting how to stay smoke free for good.   • Online - The Freedom From Smoking® program now available online for those who don't have the time to go to a support group. It is available 24 hours a day to help fit in your busy schedule.

Oregon Tobacco Quit Line - Call Toll-free English: 1-800-QUIT NOW (1-800-784-8669) or Spanish: 1-877-266-3863

The Quit Line offers free help from people who know what you’re going through.  When you or a loved one call, you get personalized advice and support.  And it is confidential.

The helpful staff is there for you 5 am to 9 pm every day. If you call after hours, you can leave your number and someone will call you back within one business day.  There are also recorded quit tips to help you get started.

The Quit Line is provided by the Oregon Department of Human Services Tobacco Prevention and Education Program.
